Obituary for Una Joyce Eldridge

Una Joyce Eldridge of Cottageville, SC, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017, at her daughter’s residence in McDonough, GA, at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 13 days. She was born Tuesday, April 12, 1938 at Redwine, KY, daughter of the late Bernie “Bun” & Viola Frisby Whitt.

She was united in marriage to Billie Joe Eldridge. This union was blessed with three children, Basil, Lechia, and Billie, II. She was a retired insurance agent and was a Christian. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be missed by all her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Joe Eldridge.

She is survived by three children, Basil & Belinda Eldridge of North Charleston, SC, Lechia & Dan Oliver of McDonough, GA, and Billie Eldridge, II of Cottageville, SC; five grandchildren, Shane Michael & Sway Eldridge, Amanda Katherine Eldridge, Tanya & Calvin Hasty, Daniel & April Oliver, and Chris “Joey” & Nicole Brandt; ten great grandchildren, Elena Eldridge, Michael Eldridge, Isaiah Eldridge, Camden Williams, Cooper Williams, Christopher Gavin Brandt, Haley Connolly, Ryan Connolly, Logan Hasty, and Amelia Marie Oliver; and fourteen brothers & sisters, Bonnie Yeary, Totsy Evans, Roxie & Ronnie Johnson, Darlene & James Windstead, Sarah Lovel Woolums, Bernie & Pam Whitt, Connie & Bob Patton, Sharon & Garland Holbrook, Beverly & Larry Little, Deborah Gray & Gary, Shamel Whitt & Betsy, Dottie & John Johnston, David Whitt, & Jennifer Young; and a host of nieces & nephews.

Funeral service 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Potter Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Haney, Rev. Gary Ferguson, & Bro. Keith Holbrook officiating. Burial to follow in the A.L. Whitt Cemetery, Redwine, KY. Visitation 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017.
