Velma Wanda Lee Underwood of Belleville, MI, passed away, Friday, January 27, 2012 at her residence, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 30 days. She was born on Saturday, February 28 1931 in Cannel City, KY, daughter of the late Ova and Monnie (Whitt) Nickell.
Wanda Lee was a retired auto utility relief assembler at the Ford Motor Company.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter JoAnne Amburgey and husband Truman; two brothers, Lenville Nickell and Nick Nickell; and three sisters, Geneive Nickell, Eunice Lawson, and Elizabeth Foster.
Survivors include one daughter, Bernice & Roger Baker of Belleville, MI; six grandchildren, Roger Baker II, Jolene & Ralph Ripple, Jason Baker, Reda Burke, James Burke, and Arthur Burke; eight great grandchildren, Brittany Ripple, Derrick Ripple, Zachary Ripple, Jordan Baker, Meagan Robertson, Savanna Lovelace, Elizabeth Foust, and Kelsey Jackson; one great-great grandchild, Xander Foust; one sister, Ina Nickell of Belleville, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Potter Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Lindon officiating. Burial in the Nickell Cemetery, Cannel City, KY. Visitation 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Jason Baker, Roger Baker, II, Ralph Ripple, Derrick Ripple, Zachary Ripple, and Jordan Baker.
