Ruth Taulbee of New Paris, OH, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at her residence, at the age of 95 years, 4 months, and 23 days. She was born on Friday, December 13, 1918 at Grassy Creek, KY, daughter of the late William Jesse & Angeline Bush Havens.
Ruth was united in marriage to Elbert Taulbee. This union was blessed with eight children. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and a member of the Victory Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Taulbee; one daughter, Diane Johnson; sons-in-law, C.W. Ratliff & Kent Thompson; and one grandson, Raymond Mark McCoy.
She is survived by seven children, Lurlene & Ed Ratliff of Paris, KY, Elda Lee Ratliff of Carlisle, KY, Louise & Jim Harper of Richmond, IN, Janet Thompson of Mt. Sterling, KY, Norma Gay & Raymond McCoy of Stanton, KY, Edward Taulbee of New Paris, OH, and Timothy Wayne & Beveraly Taulbee of Eaton, OH; eighteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren; one sister, Louraine Williams; and many friends and loved ones.
Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Joel McIntyre officiating. Burial to follow in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
