Mildred Tackett of Lexington, KY, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, at Baptist Healthcare, Lexington, KY, at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 4 days. She was born on Wednesday, April 13, 1938 in Wolfe County, KY, daughter of the late Byrd & Ivory Bush Faulkner.
Mildred was united in marriage to Jack “Jay” George Tackett. This union was blessed with one daughter, Lisa. Before retiring, Mildred was a daycare attendant. She was a Christian and was of the Pentecostal Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack “Jay” George Tackett on March 11, 2014; two sisters & two brothers, Gerldine Hall, Maurine Bush, Asa Faulkner, and Eugene Faulkner.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Mike Hill of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Kayla Tackett, Ashton Jack Tackett, and Haley E. Hill all of Lexington, KY; one great grandchild, Serenity White; one sister, Clara Faye Vest of Hazel Green, KY; one brother, J.S. Faulkner of Cannel City, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Mark Risner officiating. Burial to follow in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Mike Hill, Albin Boyd Vest, Eugene Crase, Danny Havens, Tony Thornsburgh, Mark Hill, and Mike Morris.
